GPSC is a state-level public service commission in the state of Gujarat. Gujarat Public Service Commission Recruitment Board is responsible for conducting government examinations for the recruitment of persons in various government agencies of the State of Gujarat. Every year the commission conducts recruitment examinations for various state administrative posts. What is GPSC Exam?

The Gujarat Public Service Commission is a Gujarat state-level constitutional body that advises on transfers, disciplinary action, recruitment rules, etc, along with recruitment to state administrative posts. State Public Service Commissions operate under the provisions of Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Headquarters is located at Sector 10-a, Near Chh-3 Circle, Chh Road, Gandhinagar – 382010 Gujarat.

Gujarat Public Service Commission was founded in 1960. The Commission has a Chairman (Current Chairman – Shri Dinesh Dasa) and 7 members. GPSC Selection Process

The GPSC arranges a specific selection process for recruitment to their government offices. And the candidates are selected following that selection process. This selection process has multiple stages. In the case of GPSC, this selection process is basically divided into three stages. The stages are described in detail below.GPSC is going to select the candidates through the performance in the following –

  • Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination
  • Stage 2 – Mains Examination
  • Stage 3 – Interview

GPSC Selection Process – Prelims Exam

In the first stage of the GPSC selection process, a written test is arranged which is done in an MCQ pattern. This test is called Preliminary Examination. This test is usually done on a Qualifying paper. This means that a candidate must be allowed to sit for the main test only if he or she must pass the test. However, the number obtained in this test is not associated with the main test or the main result of the candidate. GPSC authorities set a minimum mark of a certain standard for passing this test. Which is called a cut-off number. That topic will also be discussed in this article.

GPSC Selection Process – Mains Exam

In the Second Stage of the GPSC selection process, a written test is arranged which is done in a Descriptive pattern. This test is called Mains Examination. This test is usually done on Qualifying and Merit Ranking paper. This means that a candidate must be called for an interview, only if he or she must pass this test. However, the number obtained in the Qualifying papers in this test is not associated with the main test or the main result of the candidate. GPSC authorities set a minimum mark of a certain standard for passing this test. Which is called a cut-off number. That topic will also be discussed in this article.

GPSC Selection Process – Interview

The candidates who scored above cut-off marks successfully will be called for the interview round with the GPSC board. Candidates shortlisted from the GPSC mains are called in by the GPSC board for an interview which is basically a personality test. The interview carries a maximum of 100 marks.

According to the notification published on the official website of Gujarat Public Service Commission, GPSC Prelims and mains exam will be in English and Gujarati language.

GPSC Eligibility Criteria 2022

The GPSC announces vacancies for posts in various departments almost every year for recruitment in their government offices. However, in order for candidates to apply for all these posts, it is mandatory to fulfill certain rules. These rules are called eligibility criteria. The GPSC divides its recruitment rules into three parts in total. The GPSC’s eligibility criteria are described below.

GPSC Age Limit

Age limitation is number two in the list of GPSC eligibility criteria. The age of a candidate must be within the age limit fixed by GPSC. Generally, the age limit of a candidate is from 20 years to 35 years as per the rules prescribed by GPSC for all the candidates. However, this issue is waived in the case of reserve candidates. This relaxation of the age limit is called age relaxation. Below is a description of the relaxation prescribed for the candidates of different reserved categories.

GPSC Education Qualification

Educational Qualification is the third and last number in the list of eligibility criteria of GPSC. In this case, the educational qualifications of the candidates are tested, so the candidate must fulfill the minimum rules of these criteria. GPSC Application Form 2022

The application process for the GPSC Civil Service Preliminary Examination begins with the completion of the online application form from the official website of the GPSC. After announcing the results of the Gujarat PSC Preliminary Examination, the qualified candidates became eligible to apply for participation in the GPSC Main Examination. Before the due date, the GPSC application process has to be completed online with various documents and photocopies of the documents.

GPSC Exam Application Process

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of GPSC –
  • Step 2: Under Important Announcement, locate the GPSC online application and click on it.
  • Step 3: Sign up and complete the GPSC Sign Up process. (If you have already signed up on the official website of Gujarat PSC, you do not need to sign up again)
  • Step 4: Register your phone number or mail-id, where you will get username and password to login.
  • Step 5: Complete the login process using username and password and click on “Apply Now” button and fill up the GPSC application form and upload the required documents (Aadhaar card, previous year’s mark sheet, caste certificate, etc.).
  • Step 6: To complete the GPSC application form correctly, you need to submit the application fees.

GPSC Application Fee

The authority prescribes an amount for the examination forms submitted to the government offices of all the states. This amount is called the application fee. Application fees vary from state to state for each candidate’s category and post department, but in the case of GPSC, the application fee for Class I, II, and III is the same.

  • The Registration Fee is Rs. 100 for all, reserved &unreserved Category candidates. The candidates can pay the fee through cash or any post office or any online payment method.

The candidate has to pay this application fee or registration fee at the end of filling up his application form. Candidates must collect the hard copy of this fee receipt.

GPSC Admit Card 2022

The GPSC issues two separate admit cards for the first two written examinations according to its selection process. The name of the candidate of this admit card is recorded along with various necessary information including place, time, and date of examination. Below is a discussion about the requirements and receipt of Admit Card according to the first two written test stages according to the GPSC selection process.

Preliminary Examination –The Admit Card for the Preliminary Examination is issued by the Authority in the name of all the candidates who have applied for the GPSC Examination. After announcing the admit card, a candidate can go to the official site of GPSC and collect the admit card in his / her name by logging in with the login ID and password given at the time of registration.

Main Examination – Admit Card for Main Exam is announced only for those candidates who have passed the Preliminary Examination or have obtained more or less than the minimum cut-off number. After announcing the admit card, a candidate can go to the official site of GPSC and collect the admit card in his / her name by logging in with the login ID and password given at the time of registration.

  2. Candidates have to visit the official website of Gujarat PSC and enter their date of birth or registration number.
  3. Click on Admit card download button.
  4. If the Admit card is open on the screen, you have to cross-check the information before downloading.
  5. If all the information presented on the Admit Card is correct, it is recommended to download it for future use.
  6. It is recommended to download an additional Admit card for future reference.

GPSC Salary and Benefits 2022

In addition to the annual salary, applicants receive benefits and other benefits available during retirement.

GPSC Civil Service Salary is determined by the Commission including a grade-pay, pay band, allowance. According to the 7th Pay Commission, GPSC Class-1 candidates have salaries of Rs 56,100 – Rs 1,77,50, and GPSC Class-2 candidates have salaries of Rs 44,900 – Rs 1,42,400 and other allowances. 7 changes every year due to location and level of experience

GPSC Result 2022

Candidates who have passed GPSC Prelim Examination will have to sit for the Main Examination. Gujarat PSC Main Exam Admit Cards will be sent to your registered email ID or you can download the Admit Card directly from the official Gujarat PSC Portal.

Candidates are called for interview/personality tests after passing GPSC Main Exam. The results of GPSC 2022 will include the name of the candidate, caste category, father’s name, Exam paper name, address, date of birth, mark, etc. Based on the scores obtained in the main and interview/personality tests steps, a candidate is offered for appointment in the state.
