What is HPPSC Exam
Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission or HPPSC, Himachal Pradesh is a state government-owned and operated body that was established on 8 April 1971. HPPSC conducts civil service and other competitive examinations. HPPSC conducts entrance tests for various jobs within the state and they are held once a year.
HPPSC Himachal Pradesh has set up a three-stage selection process for the Civil Services Examination:

HAS HPPSC Exam Notification 2022

HPPSC Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the HPPSC HPAS exam, one must make sure that they meet the HPPSC Eligibility Criteria. HPPSC HPAS eligibility criteria include educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality.

HPAS Eligibility – Education Qualification
Candidates must have BBA, B.Sc, B.Com, BA, Candidates with a bachelor’s degree from a state legislature or a university established by a central or an educational institution in India are eligible for the HPPSC Exam.
HPAS Eligibility – Age Limit
The minimum age for taking the test is 21 years, but the upper age limit for persons belonging to an unreserved category is 35 years. The age of the examinee in the examination year will be calculated from January 1, 2022. For upper-caste candidates (ST, People with Disabilities, SC, OBC, and grandchildren of Freedom fighters) there is relaxation in the upper age limit, which is discussed in detail below –

HPPSC Selection Procedure
The HPPSC exam selection process will be done through the following three steps:
✔️ Prelim exam ✔️ Mains exam ✔️ Interview
- Candidates are selected by HPPSC on the basis of their performance in successive rounds of examinations.
- Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Prelim, Mains, and Final Personality Test are the three stages of the HPPSC exam.
- Each HPAS exam excludes unsuccessful candidates, and only those who advance to the final stage are considered for consideration.
- During the HPAS counseling process, selected candidates are given the opportunity to choose their chosen assignment.
Once the candidates have cleared the 3 stages of HPPSC, they will be called for the document verification round. After the document verification process, shortlisted candidates will get posted at an HPPSC office/branch across Himachal Pradesh.
HPPSC Application Form 2022
Candidates who wish to participate in the Administrative Service of Himachal Pradesh must complete the HPPSC Application Process through online mode. The HPPSC application form can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates have to fill out the application form correctly. Candidates must submit Application Fees to submit an online application form of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. The rules for filling up the application form are discussed below –
HPPSC 2022 Application Process
- Candidates must first enter the official website of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission.
- Click on Active HPPSC Recruitment 2022 Link.
- Register yourself for HPPSC Recruitment 2022 by entering a valid mobile number, email ID, and other required details.
- After successful completion of HPPSC registration process, candidates will get registration ID and password.
- Re-login and open the HPPSC Application form and fill the Application form with academic, personal, and other required details.
- Upon completion of HPAS Application form fill up, upload the required documents with scanned image and signature.

Applicants must pay the application fee to complete the HPPSC application process. Candidates for certain reserved categories (ST, People with Disabilities, SC, OBC, and grandchildren of Freedom fighters) are exempted from paying fees. The amount of application fee by category is discussed below –

HPPSC HPAS Exam Pattern 2022
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Recruitment Board conducts various competitive examinations for direct recruitment in Himachal Pradesh Police Services, Administrative Services, and Accounts Services. Under the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, quality tests are conducted in three basic stages for recruitment in various civil services – HPPSC Preliminary, Main, and Personality Test. Candidates need to clear three stages of the HPPSC examination to qualify for HPPSC civil service. The HPPSC Exam Pattern 2022 for each stage is detailed below:

HPAS Exam Pattern – Preliminary Exam
The HPPSC HPAS Preliminary Exam is an objective test with two 200-mark papers. HPAS Prelims lasts 2 hours on two papers.
HPAS Prelims Both papers will be 120 minutes, with an additional 20 minutes allocated for visually impaired students. Note that Paper I and Paper II of Preliminary Examination have Negative Marking (1/3 rd). Numbers obtained from the Himachal Pradesh PSC Prelims test will not be added to the final result as it is only a screening test. HPAS Exam Pattern – Personality Test
This is the final stage of the HPPSC exam on the basis of which candidates will be selected for several administrative posts. Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Personality Test is 150 marks. Each year, shortlisted candidates are required to appear for an interview at the HPAS Commission premises in Shimla.
The final merit list of the selected candidates for the HPPSC examination has been prepared on the basis of a total of 1050 marks. All the subjects that are tested among the candidates in the interview round – leadership qualities, mental agility, communication skills, critical understanding, etc.

HPPSC Admit Card 2022
Candidates who have filled up the online application form for Himachal Pradesh HPPSC Exam 2022-23, will get Admit Card 15 to 20 days before the date of the Himachal Pradesh HPPSC Exam. You can download the Admit card through the official website “http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc/”. The roll number, name, date and time, test center, and all personal information will be mentioned on the entry form.
Candidates must immediately report any inconsistency or error in the details of the HPPSC Admit Card to the concerned authorities (through the official website).
How to download HPPSC Admit Card 2022
- Step 1: Visit the official website of HPPSC – hppsc.hp.gov.in.
- Step 2: Himachal Pradesh official website Under Important Announcement, look for the HPPSC Exam Admit Card link and click on it.
- Step 3: Once the HPAS login page opens, enter the candidate’s registration ID and password.
- Step 4: Once your HPPSC admit card is open on your screen, it is recommended to download it for future reference.
NOTE - Before going to the examination center, it is recommended to take 2 printouts of the HPPSC Admit Card and a passport-size photo ID proof during the examination with Admit Card.

HPPSC Result 2022
The results of the HPAS examination will be published by HPPSC (Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission) on its official website, namely www.hppsc.hp.gov.in. Candidates can visit the official website of HPPSC and easily view their results. The HPPSC exam cut-off will be published in three steps; Prelims, Mains, and Interviews. Candidates will be shortlisted for the job only after clearing the minimum HPAS cut-off criteria for the three steps.

HPPSC Cut Off
The HPPSC exam cut-off marks are not the same every year. Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission exam cut-off mark is not available to the public. The procedure is known only to the HPPSC examination authority. However, cut-off marks usually depend on the number of students, the number of vacancies, and the difficulty of the exam. Candidates should calculate their number based on the published answer key. If the candidate scores above the HPPSC cut-off mark, the candidates have a huge chance of appearing in the next round.
