Odisha government launches ‘Rakshak’ road safety plan

The Odisha regional government has launched its first road safety program called Rakshak, to train first responders in road accidents. Under the program, 300 professional trainers will train 30,000 locals, who live or work in various restaurants and business centers near high-risk areas. These 30,000 volunteers will be trained as First Responders in road accidents. They will be equipped to provide first aid and pre-hospital care for traumatized victims during critical hours.

About the program:

The ‘Rakshak’ initiative was organized by the Department of Trade and Transport in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Indian Red Cross Society, a branch of Odisha State.

As part of the program, the provincial government will train volunteers from roadside communities such as restaurants, small shops, petrol stations, and police to be the first responders to road accidents.

The first responder training program will be conducted in two phases:

  • In the first phase, 300 professional trainers will be trained by Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) specialists in ten areas: Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Balasore, Koraput, Phulbani, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Bawanipatna.
  • In the second phase, 300 specialist tra iners will visit the most common high-risk areas in all districts and train local people to assist the injured in road accidents. First responders will also educate and inform the public about road safety measures and the Good Samaritan law.

SpaceX launches Indian Astronaut campaign Raja Chari led by Crew 3

The US NASA mission and the rocket company owned by Elon Musk SpaceX launched the “Crew 3” campaign on November 10, 2021. The “Crew 3” campaign contains Indian NASA astronaut Raja Chari as commander. its machinery. Three other astronauts Tom Marshburn (pilot); and Kayla Barron (mechanical specialist); and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Matthias Maurer (mechanical specialist).

Under this policy, four astronauts were sent to the International Space Station (ISS) for six months’ scientific work until April 2022. A four-member international astronaut team departed from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida’s SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule called Endurance mounted on Falcon 9 rocket.

The first set of the Indian Yogasana Sports Championships in India in Bhubaneswar

India’s First Physical National Yogasana Championships are organized in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from November 11-13, 2021. The National Yogasana Sports Championships 2021-22 is organized by the National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) in partnership with the Odisha region.

About 560 young Yogasana Sports athletes from all 30 provinces will take part in the event. The event aims to promote yoga and create a global genre around it, presenting it as a competitive sport with high levels and benchmarks.

Priyanka Mohite To Win 2020 Norgay National Adventure Award-Winning Prize

Maharashtra-based Priyanka Mohite, 28, has been nominated by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sport for the prestigious ‘Norgay National Adventure Award 2020’ for her outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment. He climbed to the highest peak in the world Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, and Mt.Makalu. She is the first Indian woman to climb Mount Annapurna, the 10th highest mountain in the world.

SBI introduces the ‘Video Life Certificate’ site for pensioners

State Bank of India has introduced a video pension certification service for pensioners. The new facility will allow pensioners to bring their video life certificates home. This facility is available to pensioners (excluding family pensioners). Therefore, the partner of a pensioner earning a pension from the government will not be able to use this facility.

About the facility:

  • As with SBI, the video health certificate process is paperless and cost-effective.
  • It is important for pensioners and their families to submit their life certificates by no later than November 30 each year to prevent their pensions being suspended.
